1. Agreement
By using KanairoXO you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. We operate from Nairobi, Kenya.
2. Who can use it
You must be 18 or over and legally able to enter a contract. One account per person. You are responsible for what happens on your account, so keep your login to yourself.
3. What KanairoXO is
A social platform for Nairobi: meeting people, tools for couples, discovering and attending events, and booking dates at partner venues. Some features are free, some are paid, and some are sold by third parties through us.
4. How you behave
Do not harass, threaten, stalk or abuse anyone. Do not impersonate anyone. Do not post hate speech, sexual content involving minors, or content that is not yours to post. Do not scrape the platform, attack it, or use it to advertise without our written agreement. Do not resell tickets above face value through the platform.
We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these rules. Where the decision is ours to make and you think it was wrong, write to us and a person will look at it.
5. Your content
What you post stays yours. You give us permission to store and display it so the platform can work — showing your profile to people you might match with, showing a moment you posted at an event. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we must keep something for safety or legal reasons.
6. Tickets and events
Most events are run by third-party organisers and venues. They are responsible for the event itself — whether it happens, what it is like, and the conduct of their staff. We provide the ticketing, take payment and pass it on.
Your ticket is valid for one entry, is checked at the door, and stops working once scanned. Do not share the QR code — whoever presents it first gets in, and we cannot let a second person in on the same ticket.
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Each event states its refund window at checkout. If an organiser cancels an event, you are refunded in full regardless of what that window said.
When you buy a ticket, the organiser of that event receives your name, email and phone number so they can run the door and contact you about it. See the Privacy Policy.
7. Buying tickets for other people
You may buy tickets for other people and supply their name and email so we can send them the ticket. Only do that for people who would expect it. The person who paid is the one who can request a refund.
8. Date bookings
We operate a marketplace connecting you with venues and service providers. We are not a party to the service you receive from a venue. Payment is taken at booking. Each venue sets its own cancellation terms, which are shown before you pay.
9. Payments
Prices are in Kenya Shillings and include our fees unless stated otherwise. Payment is by M-Pesa or card via licensed providers. We do not store your card number or M-Pesa PIN.
10. For partners and organisers
If you sell tickets through KanairoXO, we deduct a commission from each sale and pay you the balance on our payout schedule. If a ticket is refunded, that sale is reversed — and if we have already paid you for it, the amount is recovered from your next payout. You must honour the refund policy shown on your event listing, and you may only contact attendees about the event they bought a ticket to.
11. What we do not promise
The platform is provided as it is. We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, that you will meet anyone, or that any event or venue will meet your expectations. To the fullest extent Kenyan law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the previous six months.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
12. Meeting people is your risk to manage
We do not run background checks on users. Verification badges mean we checked something specific, not that a person is safe. Meet in public, tell someone where you are going, and use the in-app safety tools. Report anyone who worries you.
13. Ending it
Delete your account from Settings whenever you want. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms. Money already spent on tickets is handled under the Refund Policy.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. If a change materially affects you we will tell you before it takes effect. Continuing to use the platform after that means you accept the new version.
15. Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and disputes fall to the courts of Nairobi. We would much rather sort it out by email first.
